KEEP SOUTH AFRICA SOBER

Dependence on substances like alcohol, medicine or drugs creates huge problems, not only for the dependent, but also for family, friends, employer, law enforcement officers and many others.

There is no one better equipped to motivate a dependent to receive treatment than a person who has been through the treatment and rehabilitation process. The success factor for CAD members, who have been through this difficult ordeal, is much higher than for those who had to climb this mountain all by themselves. The skilled professionals who provide the treatment grant us this too. It is the best way to handle the situation. One of the biggest problems for a person, who just received treatment, is that former friends usually were and are part of the problem. Many CAD members and their families have experienced this and as a result develop close friendship between themselves and other members. Every newly recovering person has to become part of such a group of friends as part of our strategy to maintain sobriety.

The CAD is very practical in its approach and cares for the entire family as well as the other co-dependents. We also prefer to work in co-operation with the employer, because that makes the going back to work much easier. In addition, we also prefer to work closely with the congregation and spiritual leader of the newly recovering person to facilitate the inclusion of that person into the congregation.

Jesus Christ forms part of this circle of friends. The fact that we are a Christian organisation makes us different from all other support systems who do not have that as their basis. We find our strength in Him and He gives quality and character to our supportive friendship, which is irreplaceable. For Him nothing is impossible.

We regard prevention and the spreading of information about substance dependence as a high priority.  The youth must be helped to avoid the potholes of substance dependence. Every person, who is not informed about the dangers of dependence forming substances like alcohol, medicine or drugs, is in danger. Our vision is to let every South African make a well-informed decision on the use of dependence forming substances.

We want to take hands with everyone that shares this vision with us. Therefore, we market our cause with sincerity and conviction. Not for the sake of the CAD – that would be selfish – but for the sake of every South African! Our actions are everybody’s concern, because they concerns the happiness of millions. It also concerns productivity, economic growth and crime prevention, aspects. That involve every citizen of our country.

Contact us today if you want to get involved!! Come forward and take hands with the CAD – every dependent, recovering dependent and potential future dependent needs you. Come and let all of us keep South Africa sober!

You can also make a difference with this powerful vision.
